Why I Love Supporting Small Food Businesses

One of the unexpected joys of building Jake's StrongGinger has been meeting other entrepreneurs who are passionate about creating exceptional food products.

Sometimes those meetings happen in person.

Sometimes they happen online.

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa, founder of a small Colorado company called Spark & Honey Granola.

Her story immediately made me smile because it reminded me of how Jake's StrongGinger began.

Every Small Business Starts Somewhere

Like many food entrepreneurs, Lisa started in her own kitchen.

That brought back memories of my own journey.

Years ago, my daughters gave me a juicer for my birthday (May 10, if you're keeping score). What started as a simple gift eventually became the beginning of Jake's StrongGinger.

Many of the best food companies don't begin in corporate boardrooms.

They begin with a simple idea, a commitment to quality, and a desire to create something better.

That's exactly what I see in Spark & Honey

What Makes Spark & Honey Granola Different?

Most granola products are baked for long periods of time to maximize shelf life.

While that approach may help with storage, it can sometimes sacrifice freshness, texture, and flavor.

Spark & Honey takes a different approach.

Their granola is "short baked" for a shorter period of time, helping preserve a fresher texture and more vibrant flavor profile.

The result is a lightly crisp granola that's enjoyable right out of the bag.

After trying it myself, I can honestly say it's among the best-tasting granolas I've experienced

Great Products Start with Great Ingredients

One of the reasons I appreciate Lisa's approach is that it mirrors the philosophy we follow at Jake's StrongGinger.

You simply can't make exceptional food products from mediocre ingredients.

Spark & Honey focuses on premium organic ingredients.

At Jake's StrongGinger, we use USDA Organic Peruvian ginger, whole organic lemons, and purified water.

Different products.

Same philosophy.

Start with the best ingredients possible and let quality speak for itself

Why Supporting Small Businesses Matters

Behind every small food brand is a story.

There are long days, late nights, countless experiments, and a willingness to take risks in pursuit of something meaningful.

When you support a small business, you're supporting more than a product.

You're supporting a dream, a family, and the values that inspired that company to exist in the first place.

That's something worth celebrating.

A Shared Commitment to Quality

Whether it's a handcrafted batch of granola or a bottle of steeped organic ginger juice, the principle remains the same:

Simple.

Wholesome.

Made with care.

I'm grateful to meet people like Lisa who continue to prove that quality, authenticity, and passion still matter.

If you enjoy discovering unique food brands that prioritize premium ingredients and small-batch craftsmanship, I encourage you to give Spark & Honey a try

I think you'll appreciate the difference.
